Kiribati is a disappearing archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. The currently uninhabited islands of this archipelago can only be encountered via digital images taken from the internet. These photographs are used in the Preoccupied Landscapes to depict reality. Without traveling toward this destination, these islands can thus be experienced as reality.
